Houseboat shared ownership means you purchase a fractional stake in one specific luxury houseboat, held through a Limited Liability Corporation with a small group of co-owners. You receive a set block of prime weeks every season, plus first-come, first-served access to off-season dates. Sunrise Peak manages all maintenance, marina coordination, and trip logistics on your behalf.
Is this a timeshare?
No. Shared ownership is meaningfully different from a timeshare. You own an actual fractional interest in one specific boat through an LLC, share all operational costs with your co-owners, and participate in annual ownership decisions. You cannot rent your time to non-owners, and unlike many timeshares, your share has a defined resale value and an exit strategy.
How much does houseboat shared ownership cost?
New ownership shares at Sunrise Peak start with deposits from $25,000, with total share value depending on the boat model and ownership tier. Annual ongoing costs average around $12,000 and cover maintenance, marina storage, insurance, and a turnaround fee. That compares favorably to houseboat rental costs of $15,000 to $20,000 or more per season, without any equity.
